Welcome to the Blues Newsletter for August. Quite a busy night this month, so here's some hilights of what's to come. Friday 12th August - The Crown Littlehampton - Burnt Ice This venue is fast becoming one of Burnt Ice's favourite out of town gigs, but this week we have something a bit special. As Simon has taken a last minute holiday ( a weeks trip to turkey!) we have reformated the band in to an acoustic trio, for one night only. The line-up will compose Andy Broad on acoustic/ electric guitar Vocals, Matt Beckwith on harmonica, and Alan "Blackie" Blackmore on congas, djembes and other assorted percussion. It's going to be an interesting night so make sure you get there early! Friday 19th August, The Lamb Devizes. - Andy Broad This is a first trip to this venue, and I am really looking forward to it. If your are in Wiltshire then please come along! Thursday 25th August - Southsea Folk and Roots - Burnt Ice The full electric line-up will be back together for this one, to open the first night of this years Southsea Folk and Roots festival. As ever the first night of the festival is being held in conjunction with the Bullfrog Blues Club and the main act for the evening, will be Lightnin' Willie and The Poorboys and excellent blues band from Texas USA. Be prepared for a full on evening of gritty electric blues... Monday 29th August - Southsea Folk and Roots - Andy Broad Andy Broad will performing a solo blues during the blues day, and then "stage managing" the daytime event. Look forward to a wide range of blues styles, from 5 or 6 different artists. Thursday 1st September - Studio - Andy Broad The first recording session for the long awaited follow-up to Andy Broad's first CD "From The Roots on Down". We'll keep you posted on progress, release dates etc. Friday 2nd September - The Neptune Hove - Andy Broad Sunday 4th September - The Red White And Blue - Andy Broad
