Welcome to this months newsletter. Still recovering from the aftermath of another great festival. The blues jam was one of the best ever, probably fed by the now regular sunday jams at The Florence Arms. As you'll know these Jams take place on the first Sunday lunchtine of every month, starting at about 12:00 and running on till 2:30pm. All players and listeners are welcome, we have a freindly and inclusive atmosphere. the music is blues and jazz based, (we've been a bit light on jazzers of late, but nows your chance to swing the pendulum the other way!) Another event at The Florence this month is a showcase gig in the back bar by Tim Nowell's new outfit The Roadrunners, entry is free, please do come down and support it. It takes place on Sunday 20th September at 8:30 pm After a break for the festival the Monday Blues Club gigs have restarted at Drift Bar on Palmeston Road. These gigs feature myself (Andy Broad) playing my solo repetore plus special guests. Recent guests have included Pete Harris (guit/voc), Bob Long(guit/voc), Andy Thomas (sax), Glen Malo (guit/voc), Fazil (harp), Steve (harp), a mandolin player from Germany whos name I forget, Tim Nowells Roadrunners (as mentioned above) and more.
