In 2002 Parker’s Alibi disbanded, and The Ian Parker Band were formed. A year later Ian recorded his debut album "Inside".

In March 2004, the band appeared on the top German live music TV show, "Rockpalast" “as part of the Crossroads Festival, where the band were voted the number one act of the festival. Their performance was released as a live DVD entitled “Whilst The Wind” , although somewhat confusingly, a live CD of their performance in Hannover during Ian's 2004 European tour was also released under the same title!

In September 2005, Ian wrote and recorded five songs for the album, “Pilgrimage”, recorded in Clarksdale Mississippi and Memphis Tennessee, together with Aynsley Lister. The album extended Ian's touring activities throughout Europe and into the USA.

In August 2006, Ian’s appearance at The Arrow Big Rivers Festival in Dordrecht, The Netherlands, won him the “Most Impressive Artist” award given to the musician who makes the biggest impression not only on the audience but also on the festival organisers.

In January 2007 Ian released the album "Where I Belong", produced by Matt Butler, whose extensive CV includes Paul MacCartney
