KING KING - at The NEW Bullfrog Blues Club, Thursday February 3rd.

The Bullfrog Blues Club got off to a flying start at our new premises, and a good sized audience enjoyed a great night from the sensational LARRY MILLER BAND.

Not only that, we had a warm venue, clean toilets(!) cheap beer from a well stocked bar (real ale, lager AND Guinness at £2.50 a pint!) To quote Hugh Romney in the ‘Woodstock’ film - “we must be in heaven, man!”

Last March's Bullfrog gig was the Southsea debut for the brilliant band KING KING, fronted by charismatic bluesman Alan Nimmo, and after just under a year later, they're back, at our new venue on Thursday February 3rd

KING KING have played many Festivals since their debut at 2009’s Monaghan Blues Festival in Ireland , and these include “Blues On The Farm” near Chichester and Maryport Blues Festival.

KING KING’s reputation has spread like wildfire through the blues scene and a despite a hectic gigging schedule soon found time to record their debut EP ‘Broken Heal’, produced by the team behind the Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs and the Editors. The EP instantly received a gleaming review from "Blues Matters" magazine. The band had barely left the studio when they began to receive airplay on radio stations across Europe, USA. and the UK, including Paul Jones blues show on Radio 2.

Frontman Alan Nimmo is widely known across the UK and Europe for his pivotal role with the award-winning Nimmo Brothers, is famed for his contagious energy as well as his dazzling guitar work and vocals.

Bassist Lindsay Coulson, who was also previously with the Nimmo Brothers has also played with Aynsley Lister and Philip Walker.

Bennett Holland on keyboards has worked with a plethora of names including Groove Armada and Richard Hawley.

Completing the band is Craig Blundell, recently described by ‘Drummer’ magazine as “one of the UK's most versatile and staggeringly talented players”.

This line-up of top-shelf musicians draw their inspiration from the best in the business, ranging from legends such as B.B. King and Albert Collins to top contemporary bluesmen like Joe Bonamassa and John Mayer.
