DANI WILDE! This Thursday (5th December) at THE BULLFROG BLUES CLUB

As our regulars know, we always try to make the December Bullfrog our big Christmas extravanza, by booking something really special, and on
Thursday, 5th December The Bullfrog Blues Club are very excited to be presenting Dani Wilde and her band.

Dani, who is blessed with an incredibly soulful voice and a unique finger picking guitar style, was brought up listening to her fathers record collection, which ranged from Bob Dylan to Motown, Stax and Chess records, and first broke in to the public eye at the age of 17, opening for Steeleye Span's Maddie Prior.

By the following year she was opening for Jools Holland at The Royal Albert Hall.

In September 2007 she was picked up by the prestigious international blues record label Ruf Records.

Dani recalls "Signing to Ruf was a dream come true for me. More than anything I wanted to follow in the footsteps of the contemporary blues women I admire such as Susan Tedeschi and Shemekia Copeland".

In January 2008, with the release of her debut album 'Heal My Blues', Dani embarked on the 'Blues Caravan' tour of the UK, Europe and America, opening for Sue Foley, Candye Kane and Deborah Coleman. Following this tour, Dani continued to tour the USA opening for Candye Kane and Robben Ford, as well as headlining European tours with her young British band, and was also on the same bill as artistes such as Koko Taylor at some of the biggest blues festivals in the world...

Dani has had regular BBC Radio 2 airplay, and publications from “Blues Matters” to “The Times” and “Classic Rock” have given her glowing reviews.

In March 2010, Dani went back into the studio to record her second album “Shine”, produced by legendary British blues producer Mike Vernon, and featuring Van Morrison's horn section and pianist.

This Thursday's gig at The Bullfrog is not to be missed, but if in doubt, check out this you tube clip- her amazing version of Etta James’ “I Would Rather Go Blind”- it take a brave woman to tackle THAT one!!!!
