They've gained a great reputation as a live act at festivals and venues throughout Europe and the UK. 24 Pesos play original music, with deep understanding of blues history, drawing from influences as diverse as Sly Stone, Sean Costello, The Meters= , James Brown, Freddie King, Howlin' Wolf, Jimi Hendrix, and The Rolling Stones . 24 Pesos burst onto the blues scene in 2008 with their raw and rootsy live shows and debut album "The Boogie Worm". This album was followed in 2010 by "Busted Broken & Blue" which earned the band four nominations at the British blues awards including `best band` and `best album`. "When The Shi= p Goes Down" was the bands next release, and the band recently released their 4th CD, "Do The Right Thing" - an album full of greasy-funk, rootsy-blues, bluegrass slide guitars, classic hooks, great lyrics, soarin= g Hammond and slinky bass. = The band have gigged extensively in support of their albums, including festivals in France, Holland, Lithuania, Canada and Norway, as well as The Colne Blues Festival in the U.K. Club dates have included Ronnie Scotts an= d The Jazz Cafe in London, The Paradiso in Amsterdam. 24 Pesos represented the UK at the European Blues Conference in Berlin in March, and won the New Brunswick "Battle of the Blues", and were nominate= d no less than four times at the 2011 British Blues awards. = They've appeared on national radio throughout the UK, Europe and beyond featuring on a 1 hour `live in session' special on CBC (Canada's national radio station), and also the Paul Jones 25th anniversary show on BBC Radi= o 2.
