Muddy Waters Tribute With Six Cross Eyede Cats - Bullfrog Blues Club - Thursday December 7th

The last Bullfrog gig of the year on Thursday 7th December sees the debut of
an exciting new band Six Cross Eyed Cats. This six piece band celebrates
the music of one of the greatest of the great blues singers Muddy Waters.
Waters often cited as the father of modern Chicago blues is known for
classics such as Hoochie Coochie Man and I'm Ready. A seminal influence on
countless rock artists such as Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix. The Rolling
Stones and Rolling Stone magazine both named themselves after his 1950 song
Rollin' Stone.

The band features a top cast of talent from across the south coast of the
UK. The band is led by Bridport based Stompin' Dave who has built an
excellent reputation as a highly entertaining purveyor of American roots
music. Over the last seventeen years Dave has worked exclusively as a
musician and performed across the UK and beyond, including major festivals
such as Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, Bestival, Boomtown Fair and The Secret
Garden Party.

As well as performing solo Dave currently performs in and with a plethora of
different bands and duos. These include regular gigs with blues drummer Sam
Kelly, five-times winner of the Blues In Britain UK drummer of the year.
Also rock n roll and blues performer Earl Jackson who was awarded Best
Blues Singer by The Jools Holland Boisdale Music Awards 2017, as well as
top London based hoedown band Cut A Shine.

A former member of former UK Blues Band Of The Year The Producers, Dave was
nominated for a British Blues Awarcd 2014. Dave has been described by
Maverick Magazine as "one of the world's greatest performers" and Blues In
Britain as "a downright genius."

On lead guitar in Dave's Muddy Waters tribute is Portsmouth based Andy
Broad. A stalwart of the south coast blues scene for the last thirty years
Andy is leader of Portsmouth's longest running blues band Burnt Ice. Andy
is co organiser of The Bullfrog Blues Club.

Six Cross Eyed Cats also features upcoming Bristol based hamonica ace Jon
Vaughan who performs regularly in bands and duos with both Pete Harris and
Bob Long two very prominent and long running blues performers from the
south of the UK.

Chris Rickard from Exmouth is on keyboard a member of legendary Dorset based
blues band Custer's Last Blues Bands.

Jules Bushell from Somerset is on bass. Jules plays with many bands
including Redfoot Rockabilly and most notably leading UK bluegrass band
Thunderbridge Bluegrass Band.

Jim Shearman from Bridport on drums has also played with countless bands
including Errol Linton former winner of Blues In Britain harmonica player
of the year, as well as zydeco maestro Flaky Jake and much missed Dorset
based ska band Boy Le Monti.
