Claude Bourbon - Thursday 26th Jan at The Bullfrog Blues Club

Thursday 26th Jan - Bullfrog Blues Club, South Parade Pier - Claude Bourbon

French blues virtuoso Claude Bourbon - the self styled "Frog With The Blues"
- appears at The Bullfrog Blues Club on South Parade Pier, this Thursday.
Claude has just released a live album recorded in Brussels in May 2005. It's
entitled "Merci, Thank You", and no doubt blues fans will be getting a
taste of the new album on Thursday.
A typical Claude Bourbon performance starts with the blues and takes you on
a trip with songs which are sometimes inspired by Spanish boleros, drifting
by the protest songs of Bob Dylan and sailing into the world of classical
music - but always returning to the blues.
Gershwin’s 'Summertime' takes on new dimensions, in Claude's twelve minute
version, whilst 'How To Stretch' is a sixteen minute masterpiece. Although
basically a traditional piece, Claude has rewritten it to take any many otherr
dimensions. Other devastating rewrites include such contrasts as Robert
Johnson's 'Travelin' Blues" and Ravel's "Bolero"!
Claude Bourbon appears on Thursday 26th Jan at The Bullfrog Blues Club,
South Parade Pier - doors open 8 p.m. Tickets (£7) available on the door
